Over a four week period students (aimed at grades 4-6) will complete two art appreciation lessons and two art practice lessons. The art appreciation is based on Australian modernist photographer Olive cottons artworks, focusing on the artist, her background and the way she changed society, the second on her practice of photography, her subject, what drove her artwork and the common elements used. The art practice lesson based on Olive Cottons work 'Teacup ballet", this will involve creation and naming of a photograph individually by the student and various extension activities will also be provided. You may like to use some of the works included to show the students during lessons or to print and display throughout the unit of work.
